About Us
who we are

We are the Blanchard family...We purchased this 150 acre farm in the fall of '01,  and finally built the family homestead here in '06. We absolutely love this valley, and are anxious to open our property for others to enjoy our little heaven on earth as well.  We can always be contacted at 315-762-3090 or katrina@wolfoakacres.com to answer any questions, or discuss any ideas you may have!

While we now have 3 children of our own - our oldest daughter is autistic.  We continuously  strive to work with the handicap community  and are hoping to make the harvest festival as accessible as possible to people of all abilities.  While the first year or two trying to establish ourselves in the agritourism world we may not be able to offer all of the services and activities as we would like - the future of this farm will be an all inclusive property with plenty of hands on educational opportunities for all, and the promotion of acceptibility and inclusion of all abilities.  This is why we will be partnering with Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Barnes and Noble Book Stores, Autism Speaks, and many other charities promoting the uniqueness of individuals, and not the difference of being disabled.

Please feel free to contact us anytime - with suggestions, opinions, or anything you may need!  We are always looking forward to talking to our fellow neighbors and friends!

WOLF OAK ACRES: OUR SPECIAL TREE

OUR SPECIAL MISSION

A "wolf tree" is the most dominant tree within the surrounding woods.  It gives a clue to the once open field in which it at one time grew alone.  Our wolf tree is an oak - which the DEC believes may be one of the largest in Madison County.  We still haven't had the opportunity to measure it yet - but we will certainly be finding out if we will hold the county record for the largest oak tree!

We will continue to work with the DEC and NRCS on environmental campaigns, and have already been the recipients of several grants.  We have created several wildlife habitat and food plots, specifically designed to foster many of our deer, turkey, fowls, and fish.  We have also just created an 8 acre "forever wild" conservation area on the southern border of our property.  The DEC will be creating new wetlands to restore much needed habitat for our seasonal friends this fall.  We hope to open this part of our property up to field trips and visitors to explore our conservation area, view the wildlife, walk our miles of forest trails, and find a truly unique experience on our farm.

Our entire property is as green as possible.  From solar panels and geothermal heat pumps , to our custom green energy efficient thermapan home - as well as our agritourism playgrounds - you probably can't find anywhere more environmentally friendly!

We look forward to passing along any information you may need on how to "go green!"
